





"The Quarter that never was" This is a 1932 Quarter Pattern design by Thomas Cremona. In 1932 the United States celebrated the 200th Anniversary of George Washington's birth. A competition was held for the design of a new 25cent piece bearing the likeness of our first President. The design was submitted for the 1932 competition and some time ago was struck by a private mint company. THIS
COIN IS STRUCK IN .999 FINE SILVER AND LESS THEN 25,000 TOTAL WERE MADE - THE PORTRAIT ON THE OBVERSE WAS MADE FROM THE ORIGINAL PLASTER MODELS. THE DESIGN WAS NOT ADOPED BUT IS SIMILAR TO THE RARE PATTERN COINS MADE FOR THE DIGNITARIES AT THE TIME.
